DESCRIPTION
the citadel of machu picchu is the most important tourist attraction in cusco. discovered in 1911 by the american explorer hiram bingham. it is composed by two major areas: an agricultural one, with 'andenes' and food storage spaces; and an urban one, where we can find the sacred areas such as temples, squares and royal mausoleums developed with exquisite perfection. in front of the citadel rises the huayna picchu mountain, access by a steep stone path. only 400 people a day divided in 02 groups.
